ASSISTANT COACH, SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Mitchell has been swimming competitively since the age of eight. After reaching the state level and being voted “Rookie of the Year” of his high school team, he became captain. Under his leadership, the team broke both the 200-meter and 400-meter free relay records. He now uses swimming as his primary form of exercise and strives to perfect his strokes so he can pass on his knowledge to the next generation.

Sophia has utilized her three years of lifeguarding experience to make a seamless transition into swim instruction. She believes that a patient approach to teaching helps children feel more safe and confident in the water, and her happy, high-energy style creates a fun learning environment for her students!

Christina leveraged her lifelong swimming skills to transition to swim instruction when her own children began learning to swim. She believes in creating a fun and supportive environment where students can learn safely and confidently, and she especially enjoys seeing the moment a student transitions from “I can’t do this” to “I CAN do this!”

As a Site Director of our Sandwich, MA location, Christina coordinates swim lesson scheduling, registration, operations, and more. She strives to empower individuals of all ages to enjoy the water and develop essential life skills, fostering a lifelong love for swimming.

Genevieve has proudly taught swim lessons since the age of 17. Her career includes specialized work with the Community Of Resources For Special Education (CORSE) and instruction at various locations along the South Shore of Massachusetts before she joined the AquaSafe team. While qualified to teach all levels, she is typically found working with our Turtles (alongside Wally the Seal) or guiding the Sharks through fun and fast medleys!

Katie brings four years of swim instruction experience to the AquaSafe team. Her academic background in Speech-Language Pathology provides a unique and valuable perspective that directly informs her instruction, helping students effectively communicate, grow, and improve their skills.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Jacob passionately shares his love of competitive swimming with swimmers of all ages and abilities. Working primarily with students at the Dolphins and Sharks level, he focuses on teaching proper stroke technique, endurance, and diving. He enjoys building student confidence through every warmup, activity, and set, and his instruction is further informed by the unique problem-solving skills he gained while studying Electrical Engineering and International and Public Affairs at Brown University.

With almost 20 years of experience teaching and coaching swim across multiple institutions, Connor excels at finding creative ways to teach essential skills to athletes of all ages and abilities. His own background as a lifelong competitive swimmer informs his coaching, and he has successfully guided multiple athletes to achieve Junior National and NCAA Championship time standards.

As a Site Director for our Sandwich, MA location, Connor manages the operations of the FireFish swim team, continually growing its roster of participants and Championship swimmers, while also assisting with the swim lesson program. He maintains his Angelfish Adaptive Swim certification and holds advanced training certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in Performance Exercise, Corrective Exercise, and Nutrition Coaching.

Jess brings over 19 years of experience as a swim and water safety instructor to the AquaSafe team. Her core passion is ensuring individuals, regardless of age, know how to keep themselves safe around water. She believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim, float, and have fun!

With over three years of experience as a swim instructor, Jason loves to incorporate cooperation skills, teamwork, and water safety into his lessons. He is dedicated to helping students feel safe and confident in the water, and always looks forward to hearing about their day!

Grace is a lifelong swimmer who brought her passion for the sport to the AquaSafe team. As an instructor, she channels this enthusiasm into every lesson, ensuring a teaching environment that is both fun and engaging for all her students.

Kerry, a competitive swimmer since second grade, has maintained a lifelong love of swimming. She brings 12 years of service in the United States Coast Guard to the AquaSafe team, alongside experience as a Special Olympics swim team coach, Level II US Masters Swimming coach, water ski instructor, and adult learn-to-swim instructor.

Over the years, she has enjoyed taking part in a variety of swim clubs, teams and masters swim groups; and now enjoys working with our youngest students at the Tadpoles and Turtles level.

Stephen began his aquatics career in Connecticut at the age of 13. He is an accomplished competitive swimmer, having won an NE10 conference title in 2018 while swimming for Southern Connecticut State University. Stephen's degree in Sports Management and his past role as a YMCA Aquatics Director make him a valuable asset to the AquaSafe team.

Samantha is a lifelong competitive swimmer who currently swims for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her academic background in Pediatric Nursing highlights her passion for working with children, and this specialized knowledge directly informs her teaching style.

As a lifelong swimmer, Sarah is passionate about teaching new swim skills to children. After moving to the area to dedicate a year of service to AmeriCorps Cape Cod, she joined the AquaSafe team as a weekend Tiny Tots and Tadpoles instructor. She particularly enjoys singing the songs and making the babies smile!

Dana brings over 20 years of experience as a swim and water aerobics instructor to the AquaSafe team. Her teaching style is informed by a wealth of specialized training, including experience as an arthritis water aerobics instructor and certifications as an aquatic personal trainer, master level water fitness Instructor, water safety instructor trainer, and lifeguard instructor.

She loves to help children learn and grow their water safety skills, guiding them all the way from infancy to the swim team!

Lily joined AquaSafe from Colorado after swimming competitively for seven years. She loves balancing fun with instruction, teaching students essential technique and water safety. Seeing their confidence and skills grow is her most rewarding experience!

Michelle began her swimming career in Rhode Island at the age of eight and has maintained a lifelong passion for the sport. Her decorated career includes being an All-State swimmer, high school team captain, and a scholarship athlete for the University of New Hampshire’s Division I swim team, where, as co-captain, she led the team to an undefeated season and conference championship.

Michelle serves as the Site Director for our Dartmouth, Plymouth, Providence, and Taunton locations, where she leverages her extensive experience as a lifeguard, swim instructor, coach, and aquatics coordinator to ensure every AquaSafe student and family receives the highest level of service and attention. She is a graduate of the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy, and a valuable asset to the AquaSafe team!
